Here's a little video about the milking operations. They milk twice a day and rotate 2 shifts of cows through. This is the first shift. It was noisy, stinky and you really have to careful not to stand too close to the back end of the ladies!
They don't hand milk them any more. It is a vacuum type system. The milk travels up through a pipe into the "well" house where it is cooled and stored in a refrigerated tank.
A tanker comes once a day to haul the milk to processing plant.

That's kindof cool and sad. Makes me want to stop drinking milk .... and stop eating beef! Those cows are pretty cute. I probaby wouldn't think they're that cute if I had to smell them too though!
Love it! What a neat experience!!! Anyhow, glad to hear that Reeses is safe and sound. Was hoping nothing had happened to him. (Reeses is a him/he/boy, right?) ;) I'm guessing Becky is keepin' an eye on her cat while you're out of town. Anyhow, great to see that you all are enjoying yourselves. Such a special time for Grandpa and Grandma! Safe travels!!!
